Frequently asked questions
- What type of compression do these extenders use?
- Motion JPEG 2000 ((MJ2 or MJP2)
- Can I use an existing network switch that has other devices connected?
- The units communicate through multicast. Basic switches forward the traffic on every port, including wireless, which uses up almost all the available wireless frequency. You can prevent this by using a switch with vlan capabilities, and put the receiver/transmitter in their own separate vlan.
- Will the status light blink if the input doesn't have HDCP?
- Even without HDCP inputting, the status light on the JTD-87 will blink during normal operation
- Does this unit output HDCP?
- No matter if the input has HDCP or not, the receiver always outputs HDCP 1.4
- How do I factory reset?
- Long press reset button for 5 seconds
- How much latency does this unit add?
- The latency for JTD-87 is about average 20ms
- What is the casting protocol used?
- The units communicate through multicast. Basic switches forward the traffic on every port, including wireless, which uses up almost all the available wireless frequency. You can prevent this by using a switch with vlan capabilities, and put the receiver/transmitter in their own separate vlan.
